Look who wandered into my lens framing on Friday. Warren Moon, the first African American quarterback to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He won 5 Grey Cups with the Edmonton Eskimos and played 17 years in the NFL. Unfortunately a couple with the minnesucka viqueens.
Moon was in town supporting the "Best Quarterback Reciever Tandem" in CFL history promotion for Making the Connection a promotion that wants everyone to check their cholesterol. Here is the LINK to their website. Have a look.
Warren was very cool in the interview and even mentioned a story about Reggie White. He said when he was with the queens he was rolling out on a bootleg that Cris Carter was to block Reggie then release into the flat for a pass. Well Reggie just kept Carter on the block and pushed Moon farther out toward the sideline then picked up Carter and threw him at Moon. He sacked Moon by throwing Carter on top of him. Amazing. Reggie was unbelievable.
Warren threw a few passes to Brian Kelly for the cameras and he still looks like he could play.
After the interview he signed my program from the night that his number was retired on the ring of honor in Commonwealth Stadium. Very cool. Sorry Shawn, I only had one Moon item or I would have gotten you an auto also. I know he is your favorite.
Good day at work on Friday.
