Sunday is Fathers Day...

Happy Girl

On Fathers day this year I had a great day. Mostly because I did not have to work. McKenna and Donna made breakfast for me in the morning. Nice. I recieved a nice piece of art work from the Day Care from McKenna. Very nice. Plus a new watch. Good day.

McKenna also took me to see her favorite cartoon character live on Fathers day. Dora the Explorer's Pirate Adventure. Now, if you remember my rant on Blues Clues, there will be no rant on this show. It was a much better production. The sound system kinda sucked but other than that it was okay.

No, wait, I did have one complaint, or more just an observation. If you know the show, you know that Dora has a friend named Boots that is a monkey. Now, how do I say this? The person that was cast as Boots was an African American. Is it out of line for me to be upset with that? Or am I just to PC? He was a very talented gymnast and did a fine job with the part but I just could not get the irony(?) out of my head. As Trev said, "I guess and actor needs to act." None of the kids in the arena would ever see that in a negative way, so I guess we all just need to see the world as a kid does. Colorblind.

Dora Stage

Anyway, it was a lot of fun to go with McKenna to the show and she had a blast. Good Fathers day.
