Fall in Alberta and McKenna goes on a nature walk.
Sorry it has been awhile but I have been a bit busy so my normal slacking has suffered. I am just adding this quick one today and writing a longer one for later in the week.
I became aware of this link to these old school commercials that I remember seeing a long time ago. Check out the Atari Commercials and remember how it used to be. The games today have nothing on the old school Atari 2600. I still have an Atari and I took it to work at the A and Evan Klipper, a fine photographer, actually had no idea what it was. Can you believe that? I must be getting old if there are people I am working with that have no idea what an Atari is. I have some old games and I should have an Atari party and invite my two friends over to play a little Raiders of the lost Ark, Pitfall, Defender, or some of the classic Journey game. That is the one where the members of Journey run away from paparazzi, groupies, and road managers. Really, when that one came out I remember that every one was amazed that they actually had the song Don't Stop Believin'. No game had really had a big song like that on it before.
My favorite game from back in the day was Choplifter and Defender. Moon Rover was a close runner up. I probably spent too much time playing Atari. I could waste away hours running around the caves hunting for diamonds and clues to solve the Raiders game. Those games graphics were so simple but really could occupy a persons time for hours. I think if you put one of those games in front of a kid today they would probably run away from you. They need all the bells and whistles nowadays to keep them interested.
If you have a game today you can still get the games. Check out Atari 2600 dot com and you can get the games sent to you. Also there is this site Atari Memories where you can read a history and also tell everyone how much you love the ET game. I have never played that game so I do not know how much I love the ET game. These are just a few among millions of Atari sites out there.
I used to also subscribe to Atari Age magazine. I guess they saw me coming. I still have the issues around here somewhere. Funny to look back at ads back then.
Flash forward to today and you have games that look like movies. The new game that I am interested in is the remake of the movie "The Warriors". Remember that movie? Killer. They actually made a game of the movie. I can't wait to get it and fight the Baseball Furies gang. Those guys were bad ass. I watched that movie last weekend and it holds up. It really is a good movie. You should rent it.
In fact I hear there is a remake coming. From MTV films and Tony Scott. I really hope they don't F it up.
Anyway that is all I have today, I will get back to this soon. I have some thoughts that I have been thinking about a lot lately. It involves my involvement in the strike at A channel and how people who were not involved now treat me. It is an odd thing what a company can do to your image by telling a lot of lies.
Have a good day and GET BACK TO WORK!!!!

Hey Frozen One,
I actually have a complete mint Atari 2600 sitting down in the basement. I have about 25 games and an extra controller. I might have to dig it out and toss on a throwback jersey and grab a PBR. Just like those old school days.
Hey, GO PACK GO!
Hauserinskinov
I wouldn't trust Sunny enough to let him pick me up from the airport let alone have him have anything to do with my flight LOL
