Pronger Returns...

Pronger
Pronger Presser

So after a tumultous off season in Oil country. The man who led the Oilers to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals returned with his new team. This game on tuesday was the hottest ticket on the season. Most Oiler fans were really mad when he left to go to Anaheim for "personal family reasons". The internet fueled a bunch of rumours. I will not go into them because if you know the story you already know them. Pronger did not address why he left so this pissed off most all Oiler fans. They were ready to boo the crap out of him when he came back. Boo they did. Anyway I am getting ahead of myself.

He held a presser on Monday night at the Hotel Mac in Edmonton. In the main ballroom. Huge room for a presser.

So of course we camera guys HAD to get the shot of him getting off the bus. Very important to all reporters to have this shot. Especially since that meant we had to stand outside in -40 degree weather to get the shot. We at one point had made a pact to just get him as he came in the building, but Sergio squashed that when he said he was going outside. Thanks Serge. You know if one guy goes out, we all go out.

Warmest Jacket EVER

So we all got out and got the shot. As you can see it was important to layer your clothing in -40 degree weather. Dude, it was cooooold. Damn you Sergio!!

Body on the floor
Cory got run over

The only casualty was Cory who got a bit trampled in the walk in. Too bad, Cory was a good guy. Cory Blashill RIP

Nah, just kidding. Good pic though?

Working hard?

So we listened to what Mr. Pronger had to say, nothing, and then all went home. Cory recovered from the stomping and was very happy to hear what he had to say.

I think that photo explains how we all felt on that evening.

As for the game, it was kind of a let down. Don't get me wrong the game was great. The oil lost in OT 3-2. But the fans kinda let me down. Sure there was a lot of booing but it paled in comparison to the noise in that building during the playoffs. It think it had a lot ot do with the cold weather. Not as easy to lubricate yourself before a game as it would be if it were warm. There were some good signs I saw. The best was "I made this Chris Pronger Sucks Sign for Personal Reasons". Very Clever. The "Millwoods Hates Chris" was funny. Millwoods is a suburb of Edmonton. The ushers took most of all the signs away within about 10 minutes. That kinda made me mad. If you pay 150 bones for a ducket you should be able to say what you want. Within reason. Sign Boy does not condone signs being taken away. All in all not as hate filled as I thought it would be.
