I missed the second round so here is your third round picks...

So I missed making my picks for the second round.  Friggin' Bettman and his idea to play the last game of the first round and then start the second round less than 24 hours later.  What was his rush?  He has never been in a hurry to get through the playoffs before, why start now?  I mean, game seven of the Sharks/Wings series is Wednesday and the first game of the Conference final is Sunday.  I can't wait for the annual ritual of booing  Bettman when he brings out the Stanley Cup.  I love that.  That is my favorite part of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Really.

Another reason why I missed the second round is McKenna had her 9th birthday and she had a big party planned so I had to try to juggle work and her party so I really had no time to get to this.  Plus, posting your picks after the round starts is a bit douchey.   So I just passed.

How were my stats from the first round?  Well let me tell you.  I went six out of the 8 series right so I was right on target.  I really think the Kings could have won that series but the pucks just did not bounce their way.  Oh well, I will get it right this round.  Believe it.

WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

Vancouver Canucks (1) vs. San Jose Sharks (2)

Had I picked in the second round I would have picked, reluctantly the Canuckleheads.  I know TT vetran Don Granato is scouting for this team and that they have a ton of talent but I just can't get behind this team.  They are those west coast granola eating hippies with those idiots who wear those Green Leotards to the games.  I hate those guys.  Really, you pay huge bucks on Stanley Cup Playoff tickets to watch a game through green fabric.  You suck and so does your team.  The Sedin sisters have yet to show up and I don't think they will in the Conference Final or, god forbid they get there, the Stanley Cup Final.

That said, I kind of hate to get behind one of these southern teams in a market where they like hockey, but not really.  Since it is the only show in town, at least until the Minnesota viqueens move there and become the San Jose Orca's, so they get behind them.  The still are not the most educated hockey fans.  Their team on the other hand is skilled and tough as nails.  I like Thornton and Pavelensikeynov, or whatever his name is.  I spent some time in San Jose covering the Oilers back in 2006.  Love the town.  Great city.  The rink is nice also.  So therefore I will pick the lesser of two evils, Sorry Donnie I just can't do it.  I am going to take the Sharks in 6.

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

Boston Bruins (3) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (8)

Wow, can you believe it?  Tampa Bay in the final.  They just kicked the holy living crap out of the Capitals.  Ovetchkin could not even will his team to ONE FREAKING GAME.  Probably cost me some money in the CBC hockey playoff pool.  Stupid Capitals.   Dwayne Roloson, former Edmonton Oiler, and a TT veteran has been standing on his head.  He has been playing amazing.  Probably inspired by Aaron Rodgers and the WORLD CHAMPION GREEN BAY PACKERS.  If you are a regular here at TundraTalk you know that Roli is a HUGE Packer fan.  I used to record the Packer games for him on DVD on the days that the Oilers played on Sunday so he could watch it on the plane in between tilts.  Tampa also has huge talent on their roster.  St. Louis, Lecavalier, Stamkos, the list goes on and on.  They also have some grit and right now it looks as if they have the killer instinct.  BUT, and this is a huge BUT.  They have to face the Boston Bruins.  Boston has been my favorite to win it all this year and they definitely have their work cut out for them in this series.  Boston is tough, has skill, and also has a goalie that is playing out of his ass.  Tim Thomas in the last series played as if he was going to whip Philly himself and the other guys on the ice were just his extras.  He played awesome.

So what do I see for the Conference Final?  Contrary to popular belief I see lots of scoring.  I think a few of these games could get out of hand.  This is going to be ultra physical with Boston winning most of the battles in deep and along the boards.  I think Tampa has the edge on skill, but after a game or two of getting beat up by Chara they will not be able to finish.  I love Roloson so I would not be surprised if he does not have a great series and steal it but Tampa also has against it my bias as a southern team.  So I think this one will go the distance but Boston just is too tough, Boston in 7.
McKenna Rules

Well there you have it.  My picks for the third round.  Enjoy, call your bookie, and bet the house.

Check this picture of McKenna at flag football.  She is definitely on the right team.

McKenna shares the Cup with her school...

Austin and the Grey Cup at MacNeill School from hamiltongbp on Vimeo.

As you all know, the Saskatchewan Roughriders won the Grey Cup recently. Because the Peterson's moved to Regina. Yup, when we move to a city, their teams automatically win a championship. It is a proven fact. Look it up. I dare you.

We teach McKenna to give and share with others as much as possible. It is important to instill in our kids to give back to the community whenever possible. So, today McKenna gave back. She knows that the reason the Grey Cup came to Sask was because of our family so she wanted to share the Grey Cup with her school. So she arranged to have the head coach, Kent Austin, bring it to the school for a photo op today. What a great kid. I am so proud of her. That is her front and center in the red shirt.

The coach, whose kids go to McKenna's school, brought it in, told some stories (rated G stories) and then let the kids take a pic with the cup. There were of course a lot of dads in the house. Including me of course. But at least I did not send McKenna up with 5 championship hats to autograph. That is sooooo obvious sending your kid up to get autographs. Five caps? C'mon, what kid is going to bring five caps to get auto's on? Only the kid whose dad wanted to get one for himself, one for his buddy, and three to sell on ebay. Loser. I did not even get an auto. I only shook the man's hand and congratulated him. First class all the way. Really, I just forgot to bring something to sign. I suck.

Needless to say she got her class to pose with the cup, and she was front and center for the class pic with the cup. Nice job McKenna. Too bad your old man can't take a pic to save his life.

Oh, and you will notice that in the class pic, she is touching the cup. I am so proud of her. Man tears, on the spot.

Oh and one more thing. Yup, I got a truck. I am soooooo cool. Have a great weekend!!!!!!1

Welcome Back Nation!!!

Okay, so it has been awhile since I last gave you guys a shout out. Sorry, just a bit busy. You know, boxes, looking for a job and stuff. We are finally just about settled in here in Regina. I would say about 95 percent of the boxes are empty. The five percent still not empty being the boxes of books that we have no place to put because the movers demolished our book shelf. Yup, it was that kind of move. What else did they break you ask? Well I will tell you. They managed to damage my fish. You know the one, the 35 pound lake trout that was caught in 1979. The bent the hell out of the fins and broke one almost clean off. Nice

They also managed to put some big divits in the kitchen lineoleum when they brought the fridge in. That is okay because that means we get new kitchen lino. Oh and they broke one of our chairs. Awesome.

So that all went okay I guess. It is nice to be settled in in our new home. It is a bit bigger and has a few nicer amenities. It is all good.

So what else has happened since we last met here. Well, McKenna had her first day of school. She was quite excited. She gets to ride the bus to school. So you will not see me sitting in my car outside the school blocking traffic like so many parents I complained about in Edmonton. Man that drove me crazy. She loves school and her teacher. Apparently the school she goes to is the best in the city so that makes us happy.

What makes me even happier is Last night we were at my kids school for Pizza open house night at McNeill school. Crappy pizza, screaming kids, nice school, great teachers, you know all that stuff.

As we were leaving I saw this dude with Rider sweats gear on which is not uncommon to see in this town. Everyone has Rider gear. I looked closer to the guy and bingo, Kent Austin. Grey Cup Champion and current head coach of the Riders. His kids go to the same school as mine. Sweeet. He was outside throwing a ball around to the kids. He threw one and said to the kid "don't go to far I am an old guy" Then he threw a perfect spiral and hit the kid right in the numbers, the kid of course dropped it. I said "Looks pretty good to me." He laughed and said thanks. I so wanted to run over and push the kid down and have him throw me a pass. I sure as hell would not drop it. Stupid kid.

It is all good that we are here. Dakota had her first birthday party three days after we got here. She was surrounded by her cousins and family. It was all good. McKenna has been able to spend a lot of time with her cousins also. It is really nice to be close to family.

Anyway I am looking for work anywhwere and everywhere. I had a gig on last Monday at the CCMA's here in Regina. The Canadian Country Music Awards. I was a TVA, or Television Assistant. Which basically means bust your ass all day long doing whatever they ask you to. $220 bucks for 16 hours of work. Long ass day. The music was okay for the most part. With the exceptions here and there. The odd pick up and beer song mixed in with the my girl left me song. If you remember, Nation member, James Grandy, of the MinneApple Grandy's won a CCMA for writing with the singer Brad Johner.

Anyway, at the CCMA's I had the opportunity to talk with Dog the Bounty Hunter. That's right THE DOG. Way cool. Now I know you want to see my brush with greatness pic with the Dog, but me since I have not worked for about a month I forgot my routine. Which includes loading my camera with me. Bonehead. So I don't have the pic, just the memory. I suck. I can tell you one thing, just like Reggie White, he is not in charge in that family. Mrs. Dog is totally in charge. He did not do anything with out looking in Mrs. Dog's direction. Yes, he did have those crazy silver tipped boots and his shirt undone with gold chains on. I saw him in three different outfits throughout the day. Mrs. Dog also HAS to have major back problems, if you know what I mean. Dog is way cool though.

I was a TVA to the guy who ran the jib camera. That is the jib that crane like thing that is in front of the stage to the left. Oh and that is Shane Yellowbird singing about his truck in the picture. Nice. There were a couple of Riders there also. Cool to see those guys out and about representing.

NEXT: Now lets talk about the best thing that has happened lately. PACKER SEASON Whoooooooooo!!!!! Now we go to school Gordon, now we go to school. The Packers are 2-0 and on their way to a Super Bowl. You better believe that if Number 4 leads these boys to the Super Bowl I am going to be there. The Super Bowl is in Phoenix this year and I just happen to know a couple of people who live there, MY PARENTS, so I have a place to stay. Mitch Davis, of the Regina Davis', has already said he is in. Anyone else out there in the Nation wants to go, lets get it done.

First place in the NFC North, gettin 'er done. Favre looked great on Sunday, the Defense is the D I wish we would have had about 5 years ago when the offense was awesome, but the d sucked. Bring on the Chargers. They have not looked good this year but it is going to be a tough game. Packers going to the Super Bowl Baby. Book it!!!

Hey Queen fans, how does this taste? The best thing about it is no one gave the Pack a chance to win 5 games this year. Well, we already have two, it is about to happen. The Lions are getting a bit cocky but the Lions will always be the Lions and they will never be contenders. The Bears Still Suck and the Queens well are Queens. Look out Phoenix here we come.

What about that Bellicheat thing. Man did they get off easy. Suspend the guy and take away picks. As far as I am concerned their Super Bowls have an asterisk. Not sure if I can believe that they did it legit. Plus even after he was busted he acted like he did nothing wrong. No remorse, nothing. He cheated, and he got caught but did not want to make it right. In fact he just blew it off. Kinda sad. It also sends the wrong message to kids and coaches in the lower ranks that it is okay to cheat. I mean really what would you rather have? Three Super Bowl trophies or that one lousy first round pick? I would take the trophies in second. He should have paid a bigger price. Cheater.

I will leave you with this joke, Ivy, of the Moorehead Ivy's, sent it to me. Enjoy.....

This guy walks into a bar wearing a VIKING jersey and carrying a little dog that also has a VIKING jersey on with a little VIKING helmet too. The guy says to the bartender, 'Can my dog and I watch the VIKINGS game here? My TV at home broke and my dog and I want to see the game.' The bartender replies, 'normally, dogs in the bar would not be allowed, but it is not terribly busy in here, so you and the dog can have a seat at the end of the bar. But, if there is any trouble with you or the dog, I'll have to ask you to leave.' The guy agrees and he and his dog start watching the game. Pretty soon the VIKINGS kick a field goal and the little dog jumps on the bar and walks down the bar and gives everyone a high five. The bartender says, 'Hey, that's cool! What does he do for a touch down?' The guy answers, 'I don't know, I've only had him for 3 years.'

NHL Playoffs and I have no time...

McKenna hockey
McKenna and her $300 Ethan Moreau stick

Wow, I have been sooo busy with work and the Oilers in the playoffs I have had no time to do a blog. But here I am, better late than never. As you can see McKenna has a new hockey stick. She saw a broken one that I had brought home from the rink and wanted to play so I went to Canadian Tire and bought a blade and shoved it in the end. She loved trying to hit the ball.

McKenna's slap shot
Slapper

As you can see she has a mean slapper. McKenna also had her fourth birthday party on Sunday. She had a party at a local gymnastic club. I unfortunately had to work so she partied without me. She saved me a piece of cake. Fun was had by all. It is hard to believe that she is four years old. What a big girl.

rexall place
Rexall Place for the playoffs

NEXT/ As I said the playoffs are here and the Oilers are in. They did what I thought was impossible and beat the Red Wings 4-2 to move on to the second round. The noise in this rink is unbelievable. The fans make soooo much noise. I put up some video of the pregame. CLICK HERE to watch it on Vimeo. My favorite part is when the flames shoot out of the oil derrick. Really cool.

Oilers versus Detroit Game 6 on Vimeo

NEXT/ I have a new Podcast up. CLICK HERE to listen to TundraTalk, the podcast that does not suck. This weeks episode features Rob Macanally, of the LA Macanally's. He tells us all kinds of things that are interesting and a few things that are not interesting. Listen and win. No not really, I just wanted to say that. Robby also gives a shout out to Marty. I will have another one for you on Friday featuring John Garrett. He is a guy who played in the old WHA and the NHL back in the day. He was a goalie who played until he was 14 without a mask. So you know he is crazy. Here is a pic of him playing for the Hartford Whalers.

John Garrett aka Cheech

This TundraTalk is funny as hell so don't miss it. If you haven't been listening to these you really are missing the boat. They are getting really funny, no, really.

jordi and the wall
Jordi helping me put up the new wall

NEXT/ I have been working hard on the new room in the basement. Jordi came over to help put up the new drywall. I am pretty excited about this. I have never really built anything in my life. I have done pretty good so far. I can't wait to paint it. It will be Packer Green with a cool Packers border around the middle. Would you think it anything else? Nope.

Well, I have to go to bed. I am tired.

Until Friday, GET BACK TO WORK!!!!

New year, new BLOG...

Apple Store

Well it is a new year, and I have yet to put up a blog and say Happy New Year. So here it is Happy New Year! I have a lot to get to today so I will not waste any of your time. Oh by the way the pic above is of me and McKenna in front of the Apple Store in Scottsdale Arizona. I love the Apple store. It just gives me warm fuzzies thinking about it. Bill Gates, you suck.

Announcement

First off McKenna has something to share with all of you. I think you might find this interesting. That is just a picture above, below is the actual video. You must have Quicktime to view the video. Download it by clicking on the link to the right.

CLICK HERE to watch it on a separate page.

That's right, the law has not been changed yet to keep me from procreating so we did. Donna will be having our second child this August. McKenna is voting for another girl and I am voting for anything as long as the kid can run a fade route and bring the Packers another Super Bowl Championship. For all you Viking fans, the Pack have three. How many do you have?

Back to the topic on hand, Donna has wanted another child for a while now but I was just not convinced. After a conversation last year we struck a deal. Donna gets another child, I get a HD big screen TV. I think I got the better in that deal, sex and a TV. The child is scheduled to arrive in August, hopefully the TV will arrive sometime around the Super Bowl. Pelicans still deliver those things don't they? That must be hard to fly carrying a 50 inch Sony.

NEXT: To all you WhiteHot members that attended the reunion this summer, wait no longer. The DVD's are on the way. After a long negotiation with the distributer, we made a deal on the distribution rights for Zimbabwe. You saw what I got out of the deal with Donna for the kid, you can only imagine what I got in this deal. I will be sending them out to you in groups as the postage will be big so I am spreading it out. I hope you like it and make sure you send me your comments as soon as you watch it. Plus I still have a few shirts left. SEND ME AN EMAIL if you need another one.

Mr. Brad Johner(performer) accepting the award for FREE

NEXT: Lots of big things have happened to the collective, including one of our own getting a pretty big award. James Grandy, of the MSU Grandy's, has snagged a SOCAN award. SOCAN is the music licensing entity here in Canada, and it looks as if Mr. Grandy has snagged the SOCAN INTERNATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for his song "Free". Nice job James. James is also a vetran of many WhiteHot Productions during college at Minot State University. James lives in Minnesota now, I think. I lost his email, so James if you are reading this
SEND ME AN EMAIL so I can put you back on the list.

Here is an official announcement from the SOCAN website....

BMI composers who received SOCAN Awards included Lauren Christy and Scott Spock of The Matrix for "I'm With You" (Avril Lavigne), James Grandy for "Free" (Brad Johner) and Brett Beavers for "What Was I Thinkin'" (Dierks Bentley). BMI rockers Nickelback received the SOCAN International Achievement Award for bringing international recognition to Canada through their music.

NEXT: I have added a new website for you paruse on the side of my blog. It is the Rick Mercer site. This guy is funny as hell. If you have some time go and watch the video parodies on his site. I know you have time, you are at work.

whitehot_logo

NEXT: I also am a bit sad today. I was doing a google search the other day, as I do frequently, and I found THIS SITE... Scroll down to the bottom left corner, see anything familiar? An audio tour guides site from Florida has swooped in and stolen the name WhiteHot Productions. 2004 it looks like they registered the name. I feel like someone has gut shot me. I really don't have much to stand on, because I never registered the logo or name, but I feel like it is mine. I have video dating back to 1986 or so with the name on it, but I don't think that means anything. Nick, what do you think? It is my own fault. I would google WhiteHot once a year and would find nothing, until now. Oh well. If you want to send them hate emails go ahead. I will just sit here and cry in my cereal.

NEXT: I will leave you with one more thing. I found THIS SITE on the web the other day. It allows you to pick a point on earth and it will show you where you come out on the other side if you were to start digging from that point. Who hasn't tried to dig to the other side of the earth? Raise your hands. Just me? Okay, I am a loser. Remember, ALWAYS call before you dig.

I am working on a blog about how much it sucks to travel via airplane today. I HATE FLYING. The airlines suck and so does all the security. Wait for it...

NOW GET BACK TO WORK...

Monday love...

Fairy Princess McKenna
Fairy Princess McKenna

Hello one and all. I hope you all had a wonderfull Halloween with all treats and only a few tricks. As you can see McKenna had a good day. She likes the pumpkins we made. Of course the one with the big mouth is mine. How appropriate.

Before I get into what I want to talk about I want to send out congrats to Scott Beeston and Megan Venner, of the Kingston Nova Scotia Beestons and Venners, on the birth of Issac Michael Ernest Beeston. The baby and mom are healthy after a 29 hour labour (again when was the last time you did ANYTHING for 29 hours) and an emergency C-section. Here is a pic of Mike with Dad...

Scott and Issac Michael Beeston

I think that Chris would have been a fine name for him, but Megan named him after her OTHER favorite photog Mike Simpson, of the Edmonton Simpsons. Who I might add is also expecting another child. Busiest guy in Edmonton, that Mike Simpson. Oh well, maybe Mike will name his next child after me. Probably not.

One more thing. Marty Frey, of the Los Angeles Freys, and Kirk Heuser, of the Calgary Heusers, both sent me a note on my mission being accomplished last week. You know getting the pic with the TPB. Here is a reminder...

Me and the TPB

You rule!

Hey those guys are all looking like they put on some weight... Especially that guy on the far left~!

Marty

Chris,

Okay... getting a picture with the Trailer Park Boys... that indeed is cool.

K.

Thank you boys for your, um, kind responses. Now I know I am cool but still gaining weight. I now need to go and seek professional help. Smokes, now.

Just a few things to share this week as I had a Bad Religion concert to go to last week. Great show. Anti Flag is opened up.

rendezvous20_04.mov

YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS LINK.

This dude strapped a film camera to the bumper of a Ferrari and drove through the streets of Paris. My favorite part is when he gets blocked by a bus and jumps into the oncoming lane to get around it. AWESOME. Plus all the birds flying to get out of his way. This looks like fun. Here is a quote from a review...

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago.

Watch it and keep yellin SHIFT...

KennyVSpenny

I have been watching a new show after TPB on Sundays. I actually laugh out loud on Sundays after I cry watching the Packers. Man does their defense suck. The show is called Kenny Versus Spenny. It basically is two guys who live together and compete at stupid things. Week one was who could drink the most in a three day period. The first one to puke lost. Very funny. Week two was who could stay naked the longest. Kenny is the one who always tries to cheat. He calls it being 'extremely competitive'. On the drinking one he bought the beer and made sure he picked a beer that the bottle looked just like the near beer. So he drank nothing but near beer while the other guy drank striaght stuff. On the naked competitiion Kenny 'rented' some S&M guys to come in and attack Spenny. So funny. If you want to watch a whole episode, click here and watch them compete to see who can gain the most weight in a three day period. Funny as hell.

Oh and we lost another one this weekend.

Eddie Guerrero
1967-2005

Minneapolis World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler Eddie Guerrero 38, was found at the Marriott City Center in downtown Minneapolis. He was in town for Sunday night's "WWE Supershow" TV taping at Target Center was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis, the organization said Sunday.

According to Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch, when the body of Eddie Guerrero was discovered by his nephew Chavo in the bathroom of the hotel he was staying at, he was found with a toothbrush in his mouth.

Although not confirmed, the belief among many WWE staff and wrestlers is that Guerrero died as a result of heart failure. It should also be noted that shortly after Guerrero's body was found, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko and Chavo Guerrero all visted the hotel room to say their goodbyes.

As noted earlier, WWE staff and wrestlers are visibly shaken and shocked following the passing of Guerrero earlier this morning. Staff and wrestlers from both RAW and SmackDown! are now(Sunday) at the Target Center in Minneapolis for the SuperShow TV tapings for both RAW and SmackDown! tonight.

The early word is that tapings for both shows will have to be revised, especially in the case of SmackDown were Guerrero was scheduled in a Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Title.

WWE SuperShow TV taping for both RAW and SmackDown in Minneapolis, MN will be a four-hour tribute show to Eddie Guerrero.

Police confirmed Guerrero's death, but are not yet releasing additional information. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner was at the hotel.

RIP Eddie

Click HERE for a link to a tribute and retrospective.

Okay that is all I got. Glad the Packers finally pulled out of the slump, I would kind of like them to go for the number one pick in the draft but that might be tough to beat out the Texans.

Have a good day and GET BACK TO WORK!!!!

Blues Clues Live is...well, interesting?

Next week I will have some good stuff for you. On monday we are going to do some interviews with WWF wrestlers so I will have some good pics. Plus I got freebies to Smackdown which is in Edmonton on Tuesday. I know I retired, but as far as I am concerned if the tickets are free I am not violating the Retirement Pledge. Even if I did ask for them.

DSC00260
Here is the stage for Blues Clues Live

Well, last week I went from one night going to Green Day Live to two days later going to Blues Clues Live. What a diverse individual I am. Well I can tell you the age group between the two shows is not THAT far off. On of McKenna's birthday presents was tickets to go and see Blues Clues Live, or, Blues Clues Alive as she calls it. She counted down the sleeps to the show. She was about as geeked as a little girl can be about seeing a stuffed mascot replica of the cartoon that she sees on the TV. Mom and Dad were happy to see her excited but a bit worried about how much this was going to cost them because they heard a parent talk about seeing the Wiggles live the month before (sold out show, go figure) and how it was one booth after the next as soon as you walk in. Selling everything from glow sticks to CD's. Adam Cook said he dropped over a hundred bones before he even found his seats. They really know how to get you. Sell to the kid, the kid throws a "I want it" at you and to avoid the scene the cash is out of your pockets.

running

Above is McKenna running into Rexall Place for the show. As you can tell she was pretty excited to be there. To my suprise when we got inside there was not much to buy. On a side note Donna and I had a bet as to what would happen first. McKenna asking for something or Me offering her something. I was determined to win this bet. So as we walked in I slowly walked McKenna past the concessions booth. She did not even blink. No asks or anything. I was really suprised. I had my work cut out for me. All they were selling was $20 Happy Birthday Blue t-shirts and $10 stuffed Blue dolls. McKenna saw someone with popcorn and she requested some, so we obliged. Food did not count in the bet. We then went to find our seats.

DSC00259
My girls waiting paitently for the show to start. I ordered the tickets back last year. When I ordered the guy told me that there were no floor seats left. So I bought up high as you can see in the pic up at the top. Well either scalpers had all the tickets or the guy was lying to me because there were about half of the seats open. The seats we had were the same price as the floor. $45 cdn a piece. We had three. I really love my kid.

DSC00268
McKenna loves Blue. Notice all the empty seats over her shoulder

DSC00263
Complimentary "Handy Dandy Notebooks" that were handed to all the kids who entered.

DSC00273
Joe and all the gang singing and dancing on stage. McKenna sang and played along and had a great time. By the way the guy in the Perriwinkle suit (second from right) really creeped me and Donna out with his obvious, how can say this, errrrr, area. I really think for my sake and the kids sake they should cast this character as a girl. Next.

Well I think I had a really good rant about this show that I ran at Trev that same day and it was funny but since McKenna had such a good time at the show I will not put it here. If you want me to drop the rant, send me a note and I will consider it. If you know the show Blues Clues you will laugh your ass off. Otherwise, I lost the bet. I did not offer her any junk but she never asked for it so I guess we are doing something right.

Have a good day and GET BACK TO WORK!!!!

March Madness and McKenna is a tough little girl....

Here is my tribute to the March Madness that is going on right now. This was taken at Reunion Arena in Dallas Texas during the 1996 tournament. I had the opportunity to speak to the press after the game. I had a triple double earlier in the day (at Wendy's) and the press wanted my reaction.

Happy Easter!!!!

So let's take care of the mail...

Scott Dahl took it upon himself to appoint himself to the Websters dictionary board of directors....

'Chris, as your blog's recipient copywriter, I feel it is my duty to inform you that the correct spelling is "subpoenaed" not "sopinaed."

Your were "subpoenaed." Your were not "sop I nade."

Leave it to a cheesehead not to consult a dictionary. But that's okay, you got Vikes fans watching your back.'

Thanks Scott, I hope you don't charge me by the hour on that one. That could get expensive....

Speaking of spelling, Ialso spelled Robby DuPuis name wrong. Sorry dude. Slip of the finger. Middle finger.

Okay,

Last week I had the love all done on thursday night ready to go early friday, BUT, McKenna had other plans. I took her to day care about 8:15. As I was driving away, 15 minutes later, my cell rang and I noticed that it said day care. Uh, oh. What did I forget? Well I answer the phone and all I hear is screaming in the background. I know all of you who have kids can pick out your child's scream or laugh in a crowded room. I can't localize where the cordless phone is in the room, but I can tell that it is my kid screaming. They tell me that she was running(I know, funny, a child of mine running) and tripped and fell into a chair. I need to come back and take her to the hospital. Great, all that lazing around I was going to do at home is ruined, no that isn't what I thought but it is funny. So I go back to the day care and find my little girl, not screaming anymore, hugging the day care provider with a nice little gouge in her forehead. Talk about feeling bad. I know what people mean when they want to take the pain away and have it themselves. I wanted so bad to transfer the cut to me. If it were possible I would probably still be crying. On a funny side note McKenna is facinated with blood. I think she likes the color. Is this bad? On another side note. I was kicking myself for not having a camera with me. I wanted to document the whole thing. Is this bad?

So Donna comes to the day care, because she has the health care cards, and we go to the U of A Hospital. It is early in the morning so we get right in and the doctor sees her quickly. At this point McKenna thinks the whole thing is a field trip and you wouldn't know she was hurt if you couldn't see the gash over her forehead. They decide to put this numbing gel on her forehead to numb it, duh, so they can do the stitches. Only it takes an hour to get numb. I at this point am thinking that we are getting lucky because we have not had to wait for anything. Hour later...the place is packed and we wait, and wait, and finally the doc comes in and puts five stitches in my little girls forehead. She did not flinch but maybe once. I flinched a lot more than she did. Man I wish I had a camera. Is that wrong? No crying and no kicking or pulling away. What a kick ass little girl. She was out on the ice for her next shift.

So we left the hospital, without having to pay (Canada Health Care Rocks), and proceeded to be blackmailed by a two year old for lunch and a balloon. She thought since she was such a good girl she should get to have lunch at Red Robin and get a 'special balloon'. Well, it worked. She got a nice lunch and a Dora the Explorer Balloon. When we went back to the day care to pick up Donna's care McKenna wanted to go in and show off her stitches. It was nap time at day care so we didn't. She wasn't to happy about that.

Camera, camera, camera. I need to carry it everywhere.

So here are some pics I took once we got home and the next day. We weren't supposed to take the bandage off for a while but I needed a picture and Donna finally gave in.

Here is Donna preparing to rip the bandage off...

So there it is. What did we learn in all of this? Well, not to run at day care. Always milk any injury for all it is worth. Balloons with Dora on them are 'special'. And ALWAYS carry your camera with you.

Have a nice day and long weekend...

AND GET BACK TO WORK!!!!
