Mitch Davis, A Bills fan, and my wife all add to the discussion...

The discussion has been heated, at times, but very good. I am enjoying all this TundraTalk lately. If anything the Favre thing has created a dialogue in here. First off The Bengals fan gives us the latest....

Dear 'I wish the Bengals had a blog this good',

Another twist in the saga...

Okay, I heard this yesterday and actually it made me quite happy. This to me means that if the Packers (TT) do not want Favre in a queens uniform, they need to put him on the roster. If they are sooooo afraid of him going to another team, play him. Let him compete for a starting job. Brett says he may call their bluff and show up for camp. BRING IT!!!

Next, my bro in law, Mitch Davis, of the Regina Davis's, drops this knowledge...

Dear coolest blog on the planet,

Excellent article in the Green Bay Press Gazette….and I couldn’t agree with the author more.

I’ve been cheering for the Packers since the Lynne Dickey days so I am very aware of the influence Favre has had on the Packers. As he is for many of you, he has also been one of my favourite players over that time. LOVED the way he played – even when he was throwing those hideous interceptions. Having said that, you don’t screw your team over the way he is now. To quote the author Woods, “…he decided to retire, calls them a month later and says he has changed his mind and wants to come back, then changes his mind again and says he'll stay retired. And the Packers were supposed to just sit with their hands on their laps and wait to see if he changes his mind again? Who does this guy think he is?” …and now he wants to come back again. And for how long? Just this year? Then what? We’re in the exact same position next year except we’ll have an alienated backup with a pure rookie (Brohm) who won’t have gotten any meaningful snaps b/c Favre changed his mind for the billionth time

I’m a Packers fan first, and a fan of the individual players second. Ahman Green will always look goofy to me wearing a Texans jersey because I choose to remember him as a Packer. The same thing will apply to Favre if he ends up playing for someone else. I like the guy, but you can bet that I’m booing his a$$ when they play my Packers.

Nothing good will come out of this – and that includes a good year. In my opinion, people need to step back and say “Look, the guy wants to play one more year and he’s given us less than one month’s notice to do so. We’ve already moved on as a team. He has some value to other teams and we could get some value for him. I say trade him. We have to bite the bullet at some time and see what we have behind him in a real live game situation. This will never happen as long as Favre keeps retiring & un-retiring

Mitch Davis

Nice Mitch. I agree that Ahman Green did not do himself any favours going to Texas, well one favour, filling his bank. As far as the author says that he called one month and wanted in and then a week later not. I don't buy that. I think that is spin. I really think that the only reason he called it quits is because he was tired of TT and MM giving him shit all the time about quitting. But that is just my opinion. I will never boo Number 4, EVEN if he is wearing purple. I just will turn my back when he is on the field.

Jay Carton, of the E-Town Cartons, is a Bills fan. Now the rumours about Favre to Buffalo are swirling also. As far as Favre going to another team, that is the only team I could stomach seeing him play at. I have a lot of respect for Buffalo and think he would be an asset to the franchise. Jay, take it away...

Dear TundraTalk,

Nothing against a sure-fire, first ballot HoF player, but this site read my mind.

Great article Jay. I can see all those points, BUT, how much would you pay to see Number 4 in your blue and red? Yeah, I thought so...

Last, definitely not least, my wife chimes in. As she tends to do from time to time. She first told me that I have had quite a bit of time at work lately to respond to emails. That is true, I will not deny it, but I worked my ass of (there still is plenty left) yesterday so I more than made up for it. Donna take it away...

Dear greatest blog on earth,

Everyone else is sharing how they feel so I want to also. To keep it
simple, like I do with my young kids, I love the Packers. I love
Brett Favre. I "boo" the indecision. I "boo" the lack of
professionalism. I loved the way Brett went out on top when he
previously retired. And before Brett even plays, he is no longer on
top as far as I'm concerned.

Donna

Nice job Donna, nice job.

Now GET BACK TO WORK!!!! Me included...
